Molly's Newborn Photos

Yes...I realize I JUST posted about Molly being 10 months old.  But somehow, I have gone all this time without posting her adorable newborn photos that the talented Emily Hartvigsen took.

Honestly, I have no idea how I let this happen.  I'm usually SO on the ball and post about silly things all the time.  But I guess it's better late than never, right?  RIGHT?

And just a quick plug for Emily...she was SO great to work with.  She had a heating pad that she would warm up the blankets for Molly, a space heater (since this was the end of December) and had everything all set up before we got there.

Enjoy the pictures....and try not to get too baby hungry.  I know looking back at how tiny she was makes me a little sad.  But I will be strong!

10 Months Old

Little Miss Molly is 10 months old today.  I can't believe that in 2 more months, she will be ONE!  This time is just flying by at lightening speed.

So today - being her 10 month "birthday" - I took some pictures of her.  I thought about dolling her up, but decided she's just as cute as can be all the time, so why go to that effort. :)

At 10 months, Molly:
-Crawls all over the place
- Pulls to standing and cruises along furniture
- Takes off for stairs and the carbon monoxide detector in the hall whenever we blink our eyes.
- Has a smile on her face about 99% of the time
- Loves attacking her sisters

So, here we go with the pictures...

Always getting in to something.
Addison wanted in on the pictures too...so we obliged.
Bummed this picture is blurry, because it shows her huge smile she always gives me.
What did you say?  Pull the curtains down?  Okay.
Becoming one with nature

We LOVE our Molly, Molly and are so glad she is in our family!

Horseback Riding

Lately life has been crazy, stressful, emotional, busy...otherwise known as "normal".

Thankfully, my dad decided to call in a favor of some friends of the family, and we took my girls to ride horses.  Deasha was nice enough to meet us and take the girls around the arena on the horse.  A good time was had by all!

Waiting for their turns

My dad got on the horse and rode as well.

Then the girls each got a chance to ride "alone".  (Deasha walked in front of the horse, and the horse followed her.)

It was a nice break from the craziness of life!

The Listen Tank

This morning as the girls were getting ready for school, I asked Claire to go to the bathroom and get her shoes.  I finished getting Addison breakfast and went down to do the older girl's hair.  What I found was Claire standing there, without shoes, without going to the bathroom, and eating Addison's reward M&M's for potty training.  Needless to say, I got a little upset at her listening skills.  We went in to do her hair and had the following conversation:

Me:  Claire, you have had a hard time listening lately.  I'm not trying to be mean to you when I ask you to do things.  I just want you to be a good listener.

Claire:  Well, sometimes I just don't want to do what you say.  That's why I don't listen.

Me:  I know, sometimes I don't want to do what people ask me to do also.  But you still need to listen, especially when I'm asking you to get ready for school since we only have a certain amount of time.

Claire:  I know.  But you see, I have this listening tank inside of me, and sometimes it gets low on gas because I listen so much at school.

Me:  So you don't have enough gas in your listening tank when you get home?

Claire:  Well, kind of.  But I also have a not-listening tank, and it gets fuller when I listen.  So then when I get home I need to be mean and not listen so that the not-listen tank gets empty and the listen tank gets full.  When I listen, the not-listen tank gets fuller.  When I don't listen, the not-listen tank gets emptier and the listen tank gets fuller.  Because the not-listen tank has a leak in it, and the listen tank doesn't.  So I have to use up all the not-listen stuff.

Me:  Uh....

Claire:  BUT I used up all the not-listen tank, because I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!

Me:  So, you'll be a better listener now?

Claire:  Yep!

Me:  Okay, well...glad we had this conversation.
