Communicating through brain waves

I just had to document before I forget this awesomeness.

Claire used to be our #1 comedienne with the funny things she would say, lately it isn't happening quite as much...which is so sad...why must they grow up??  But today, oh yes, today she gave me this winner.

Claire:  Hey, Brielle, while we were riding bikes, I was talking to myself in my head.  And then I asked a question in my head and stopped talking, and I heard an answer!

Brielle:  Really?  What did you ask and what was the answer?

Claire:  I was talking to your brain with my brain, saying "Don't you love riding bikes?"  And when I stopped talking in my brain, I heard your brain answer "Yes"!  Did you hear my brain talking to yours?

Brielle:  No.

Claire:  Really?  Because I heard a 'yes'.

Brielle:  No, I didn't hear anything.

Claire:  Oh, well I guess it must have been an invisible person.  [breif pause] Wait...did you hear that just now?

Brielle:  No, what are you talking about?

Claire:  My brain was talking to yours again, I was just seeing if you could hear it or not.

Brielle: [looking confused] Uh...no, didn't hear anything.

Claire:  OK, I guess it was still an invisible person.

So...should I be concerned that not only is Claire hearing voices in her head, but they're now responding to her questions?

Update and Pictures

I haven't had much motivation for blogging lately. Basically, I feel like it would all turn into posts about how exhausted I am, and how I am constantly feeling like a failure...yeah...lots of pity parties happening around here.

The fabulousness I'm dealing with is being about 4 weeks away from having a baby, on the cusp of gestational diabetes (I've been warned to watch sugar so we don't have a giant baby...but my sugar levels aren't quite to the point of officially being labled as a gestational diabetes patient, but high enough that they say I'm a "mild case" and that the baby is "pushing me in the wrong direction") single parenting 4 kids, getting ready to list my house, trying to keep normal life going, kids being out of school for the summer, Marty only being home on the occasional weekend.....let's just say life isn't glamorous right now and more often than not the day ends in tears or a long hot bath...or both.

So yeah, that wouldn't make for a very good blog.  I do know there are good things coming for us and that it will all work out for the best.

For instance, a couple days ago, two ladies that Marty works with overheard him talking about how he has only one week of PTO for when the baby comes, since he hasn't worked there very long, and they quickly offered to donate some to him.  I do not know if these women have any idea that I am having a c-section that will have me in the hospital for almost a week, plus 6 weeks of recovery and no heavy lifting or if they know anything at all about Marty's home life. All I know is they heard he'd only have 1 week to be in Utah for the baby, and they wanted to help.  We were so excited, thinking he'd maybe get a few extra days. Well, Friday, when he went to sign a paper for it, he found out that they each donated a full weeks worth of their own PTO, so he gets to come for three weeks when we have the baby!  SUCH A TENDER MERCY!

I don't think those ladies will ever know how much this means to us and how grateful we are.  Seriously, such an enormous weight off my shoulders.

Anyway, so that's a little bit to catch everyone up on how life is going.

And just for the heck of it, here are some cell phone pictures of what is going on in the meantime.

I think messy eating faces are funny...don't know why.

Oh, Addison...don't let that sweet face fool you. :)

Molly sits on the top of the couch...I think she thinks she's a cat.

Life is hard as the youngest.  We're on the go a lot, and sometimes she falls asleep in the car or while watching a show and sleeps through whatever is going on around her.

Molly's hair is long enough to do one ponytail in the back...I think it's so dang cute, even when it's all messy from a day of playing.

Addison made a little shrine to Marty in her bedroom.  She keeps taking pictures out of my room and putting them on her shelf.  It's to "remember him while he's gone."

Movie night on the air mattress...always a crowd pleaser.

Apparently Addison wanted to be a tiger one day.

When Marty's home, you will be sure to find Addison wherever he is.  She loves her daddy!

Another air mattress movie day...it's good, cheap entertainment.

Playing in the water table outside.

Addison and Molly like to take this Jeep that is meant for American Girl doll's and ride around in it.

Claire needed a mermaid costume for a little class play.  This was what we came up with that would not be too restrictive for her to do her part.

Molly fell asleep on me...again.  We try our best to give her a nap, but some days it just doesn't happen.

There you go...I may or may not do another post before the baby comes.
We shall see!
