Video Extravaganza!

I decided that maybe I would do a blog post with fun/funny videos from my phone.  This is mostly for my own fun, as well as to show the grandparents and other family members what these crazy people in my family are up to.  So...sit back, pop some popcorn, and enjoy the Davis show!  .

*Side note* Please excuse the mess in many of these...a lot of them were around Christmas when we were having parties or people over for different things and the house was a mess.  Plus we have 7 people in our family, so messes are pretty typical.

Molly got a 'Frozen' microphone from Grandma and Grandpa Davis for her birthday...she LOVES it and is always singing along to it.

Brody trying out the baby jumper toy for the first time...he quite enjoyed it!

The girls LOVE sliding down the stairs in their sleeping bags.  Somehow Addison has mastered going CRAZY fast.  Always scares us and makes us laugh at the same time.

Claire has a CD of music to practice for a class play.  She knows the words by heart, so she gets a little creative when she's practicing.

Prunes weren't quite as bit of a hit...

Kid Funnies

These are seriously my favorite posts to be able to share.  Especially when I feel a lack of motivation to blog about our day to day things...maybe I'll catch up eventually.  But for now, enjoy some more kid funnies!

Brielle:
Brielle was telling us about how she got some cheetos at school for some reward, but that they were expired (or so she thinks)
B:  My friend tasted them, she said they are definitely expired because she knows the difference between how good ones and expired ones taste.
Marty:  What, is she an X-Men? (trying to allude that she has super powers)
B:  Well, she is Mexican.

I was driving home from the store with Brielle when we drove by a restaurant that had a sign for "Baby Back Ribs".  Brielle read the sign out loud...got quite for a minute and then said in a very concerned voice, "Mom...do they really take the back and ribs out of babies?!"  

We were having family home evening and talking about the Ten Commandments.  We got to "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image."  We asked what the kids thought that meant, and Brielle said "Yeah, images like photog-, no, pot-, no pho-, uh..... *thinking for a second*.... oh, I know!  Photosynthesis!" She was trying to come up with the word pornography...which is also wrong.  But she was SO sure the word was photosynthesis.


Claire:
One morning I was getting after Addison and Molly for being nasty to each other.
Me:  You guys don't need to be nasty to each other, we need to be nice!
Claire:  I farted.
Me:  Uh....OK?
Claire:  You were talking to them about not being nasty, so I thought I'd tell you I farted since that's nasty.

Claire was playing notes on her recorder from school for me and out comes this gem:
C: Here's D, E, F, hash tag F or F hash tag, whatever it is. 
Me: Uh.... that's F sharp. 
Ha ha ha! 

Marty:  Do you guys hear that noise?  There is like a high pitched ringing noise.
All of us:  No...we don't hear anything.
Marty:  Are you sure you don't hear that?  Maybe I'm going crazy, but there is a high pitched ringing noise.
Claire:  Yeah, I hear it...but that might just be my screaming stuck inside my head.

Two examples of Claire saying things before thinking them through:
"Christmas 2020 will be the next time we see a full moon on Halloween." 
"In kindergarten you learn all the letters up to 25, maybe 26." 


Addison:
Addison asked to lick the bowl after I made something with chocolate.  As she was licking it out she said, "Mom, today you're finding out that I love chocolate."  Because it was a mystery before.

Marty was looking through movie times at the dollar movie.
Marty:  Ooh....Guardians of the Galaxy is playing, who wants to go with me? (jokingly)
Addison:  What?!  Why did you say Guardians of the Galaxy?  That's what I'm getting you for Christmas!
There goes that surprise.

I was putting Brody down for a nap and Addison opened the door and popped her head in.  "Mom...I just forgot how old you are."  

Me and the three younger kids were at a little get together at a friend's house.  Brody fell asleep in my arms, but I was still visiting and laughing with my friends.  Addison came in and said, "Uh, my baby is sleeping!"  She wasn't happy we were being loud I guess.  So when we got home I explained how it wasn't nice to tell one of my friend's to be quiet (because she was looking at one of the ladies when she said it).  She says, "I didn't say it to her, I was telling them all!"  She's so protective of her brother...and kind of sassy.

Conversation in the car with Addison:
Me: I don't know, we'll probably go at, like, 5:00 or something.
Addison: Mom...you said 'like'.
Me: Yeah?
Addison: You're not a sassy girl, and only sassy girls say 'like'.

I could hear Addison singing "If You're Happy and You Know It" in the other room with Molly.  I went in to where they were and upon listening a little more closely realized Addison sings it a little differently... 'If you're happy in your nose, clap your hands.'  'If you're happy in your nose stomp your feet.'  'If you're happy in your nose shout hurray.'  I corrected her.  She would sing it right once, and then was right back to "If you're happy in your nose."

Molly:
Molly comes into Brody's room while I'm putting him down for a nap:
Molly: Can I have milk? 
Me: Just a minute, I'm putting Brody down. 
Molly: Can I have milk? 
Me: Not yet, I'm putting Brody down. I'll get you some in a minute. 
Molly: Can I have milk?
Me: In a minute. Please go out and close the door so I can put Brody down.
*goes out and closes the door*
Molly: *yelling from hallway* Can I have milk?!
