Happy Halloween!

Here we are...8:00 p.m. on Halloween, and I'm already blogging pictures.  Yep, we were those losers that went out about 6:00 and were back by 7:15.

Apparently going out before dark is frowned upon by some people?  I'm more annoyed by people knocking on my door at 10 p.m. or later. But oh well...I will move on.  It's a school night and our kids are little, we aren't going to wait until it's dark to get going. Apparently having late trick or treater's won't be an issue here though with our private lot.  We've had TWO trick or treater's all night.  One was a friend of the kids, so they specifically went out of their way to come by, and the other was a random passer by that was walking through the park.  Our neighborhood also doesn't have street lights, and our particular circle is very dark. 

ANYWAY...here is an OVERWHELMING amount of pictures.  I couldn't pick and choose, because that's how I seem to roll, and I wanted to make sure the grandparents got their fill of these cute faces.

It's definitely bittersweet today going trick or treating here.  It was fun because we're making friends and starting to fit in with the ward, so that was fun seeing people.  But it's sad missing out on our family and trick or treating with cousins, and taking all of grandma and grandpa's candy.  We definitely missed you all!

Anyway, enough with the sappy stuff...here are the pictures!

Brielle - the which.  Some people asked her if she was Elpheba from Wicked or Glenda from Wizard of Oz...and she basically started at them blankly.  She is JUST a which. :)

(She was SO thrilled that her middle name is Belle, and she was dressed as Princess Belle)

 Molly was technically "Little Red Riding Hood" but the cape didn't last long, so she looked more like a baby pirate.  She wasn't too cooperative with pictures...but you just take what you get.

And that is that!  It was a fun Halloween, I'm glad it's finally over (Addison has been whining and crying for the last 3 weeks EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. wondering if it was Halloween...now she'll start asking about her birthday probably...*sigh*)

Speaking of Addison...she told me next year she wants to be something else besides a princess.  Yes, she wants to be a window...that should be interesting.

Crazy Hair Day!

This week has been Red Ribbon Week at the elementary.  And today was crazy hair day.  Last year we went pretty big - although I failed to blog about it - so here are a couple pictures from that:

And apparently, that set a precedent for how this was supposed to go down from now on.  Brielle said to me this morning, "I really like having a mom who does such fun, crazy stuff for crazy hair day."  which was the best compliment ever, especially when I feel - many times - like I'm failing miserably at these fun things. So I guess I'll stick to it, seems to be working.

So here are pictures from this morning.  The lighting was TERRIBLE, it was still kind of dark outside, so I just snapped some pictures by the front door before they left.

First of all, I need to share all these pictures of Claire.  For some reason the flash was really bothering her, so she was having a hard time keeping her eyes open.

She was getting frustrated that she kept closing her eyes when the flash went off, so she said, "Here, I'll hold my eyes open!"  It still didn't work.

So I told her just to turn sideways.

Then she felt like she was ready to try again.  It didn't work. 

So we moved her to the couch in the living room, to see if a little change in scenery would help her keep her eyes open.

I told her to just tip her head down.

Then she wanted to try again.

And we finally got one with her eyes still open...but she tipped her head back laughing so you can't see the hair.  Oh well...you can't always win. :)

Then Brielle came in to get hers done.  We used a little plastic ball between the bottom elastic and the top one (around the frog).  However, when I was at the school today to volunteer, I peeked in Brielle's classroom and the ball wasn't in her hair anymore.  I don't know if it fell out or she got embarrassed or what.  I'll have to ask her when she gets home today.

Claire saw that Brielle was able to keep her eyes open on the first two tries, so she wanted to try again...and she finally was successful!

I asked them to pose together, and they started trying to do bunny ears and stuff and bugging each other, so this is the only one I got.
